Welcome to The Wealthy Blogger!
By Jeremy C. Wright | Related entries in UncategorizedToday is the official “launch” of The Wealthy Blogger. I’ve never been sure how you “launch” a blog (except by saying that you’ve launched it). So, here I am. Saying we’ve launched this.
The Wealthy Blogger is effectively a personal money management blog from two guys who have a lot to say, but not a lot of credentials behind them. Unless The School of Hard Knocks qualifies. And, really, I think it does.
We’ll be covering the “end-to-end” issues surrounding financial freedom and independence from not owning your own money. Initially we’ve focused on the aspects of debt and credit cards and those will undoubtedly continue to be large subjects - since they are so important in our society.
However our ultimate goal is to cover the whole process. From foundational things such as estate planning and retirement basics, through debt reduction and management, through to retirement savings options and how to invest smartly and appropriately.
We want to keep it practical, easy to understand and applicable. And along the way I’m sure we’ll pick up some neat ideas from guest contributors and commenters.
Because that’s the great thing about a blog like this: we don’t need to know everything. As long as we can attract readers with something important to say, this project will be a success.
Let us know what you think so far, and what you’d like to see for the future. While we aren’t all ears, we certainly have our fair share of them.

The Wealthy Blogger - A new weblog that made me think (and write)

Does anyone else find it incredibly ironic that the google adsense ads on this site all advertise credit card applications? A little irresponsible for this site, no?

We find it very ironic. However it’s difficult to filter them out. We’re hopeful they’ll even out as the content grows and gets less “debt specific”.

Sadly I do not have any ability to filter and choose which ads Adsense shows on this page, and such a task would be monumental at any rate. Adsense allows for ads to be placed on the site instantly and thus it was chosen. In the future the ads will hopefully be replaced by subscription ads, at which point we we have far more control over what shows in the ad space.
Besides, everyone should have a credit card for legitimate use, so why not have ads to help choose which card to have?

Just found the link for your new blog over at ProBlogger.net. You are off to a great start - best of luck!

Good luck with the blog gents.
In terms of filtering ads - you can actually add URLs to be filtered pretty easily if you’re serious about stopping Credit Card ads. But you’ll lose income from it of course
Also - the more you write about ‘debt reduction’ and such topics the more you’ll get ads for other things
I guess its a little about priorities and objectives for your site.

Yikes, I tried to create an adwords ad for this site on the keyword of credit cards and It said my average ranking in the sort order would be in the hundreds. I’m not sure I want to gather hundreds of URLs, and like I said, I am not really against the ads, just the irony
