Investing Like a Fool, Continued
By Mike Hillyer | Related entries in Stock CompetitionLet me continue the tale of my foolish investing in the Stock Competition:
After buying the first stock I could find listed in a spam email, I needed a way to spend more of my cash. I decided to go to RagingBull.com, a popular message board for stock traders, and just buy the two stocks that were most actively being talked about: NTCT and ATYT. Finally as a last idea I looked around my office, saw my Dell PDA, and decided to buy some DELL.
So how is my strategy working?
| Symbol | Quantity | Curr Price | Curr Value | Gain/Loss | % Chg | % Equity |
| ATYT | 12558 | 15.17 | 190,504.86 | 361.79 | 0.20% | 37.66% |
| DELL | 2351 | 40.31 | 94,768.81 | -273.56 | -0.27% | 18.73% |
| NTCT | 100000 | 6.2 | 620,000.00 | 5,985.05 | 0.98% | 122.56% |
| ORTE | 9475 | 0.59 | 5,590.25 | 112.23 | 2.61% | 1.11% |
So I’m up a bit, but not enough to prove that random trend following is the may to make it big in the stock market.
